Things Hated Mascot

So unfortunate that I can't figure out how to make this picture bigger, since the combination of the evil look and crazy mustache make Chris a perfect candidate for my Things Hated Mascot. Anyways, Chris really belongs on Things Loved but since he refused to read it until recently, I thought I'd throw him some props on Hated as well.

It's Over

Originally uploaded by primalktc.
To those of you who haven't heard, my boyfriend and I called it quits after almost 2 years on Saturday night. Am I heartbroken? Yes. Will I survive? Yes. So there you have it.

I love this picture, you can see more of this artist's work here.

The Search for Jon Hockey

Picture Unavailable
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
Anyone else out there have a "long lost" something or other? I do... When my mom got married for the *cough* third time, I gained a younger step brother who quickly became one of my best friends. It was a good thing when my mom got divorced again because my stepdad was, let's put this mildly, not perfect... but I lost a good friend in Jon. I think he was 2 or 3 years younger than me, which would put him around 20 or 21 years old right now. He lived in Warren, Michigan, and liked to play basketball and softball. He was an artist musically and he could also draw very well. Do you know Jonathon Hockey? Hook me up.

Alone

Alone by Ward Jenkins
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
Well, I don't know that I should be broadcasting the fact that I am all alone in this big house all over the internet, but since I have convinced myself already that I will be victim of some crazy serial killer, I guess it's okay. Both roommates are gone for the month, one to recover from foot surgery and the other to train for a new job. It has been crazy lonely in this house for the last few days. Pair that with a few nervous breakdowns for other reasons and I have been feeling REALLY alone. It sucks and I hate it. Luckily, Weber will be coming into town tonight and she's going to stay with me for awhile.

This picture by Ward Jenkins captures my feelings quite well. You can see more of his (and his daughter Ava's) artwork here: The Ward-O-Matic

Fighting is Tiring

sealion
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
I hate arguing, fighting, etc... as much as I might put up a good front that I am a bit of a hard ass, I really find confrontation completely exhausting.
And, since I'm sitting here at work with absolutely nothing to do, I think I may put my head down for awhile...

Stupid Roommates

cake
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
A long time ago, my boyfriend told me that his favorite cake was funfetti, so the other day I decided to surprise him and make one. I decided to make two smaller cakes so that my roommates and I could share one as well. I told the roomies that they could eat as much cake as they liked as long as they saved the last piece for me. I feel that this was reasonable, I did make the cake and all... but I came home from the bar last night, and there is the cake pan, sitting on the kitchen counter. Empty.

Identity Theft

Identity Theft
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
I would simply like to take a moment to rant about whoever emptied out my bank account in Kansas. That was a really shady move. With little purpose, considering the target: me, a bit too broke to be worrying about a stolen identity. I hope whoever it was really enjoyed the hard earned money that they got from me. What a bitch.

White Structure Demolition

parking
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
It may not seem like a big deal to a lot of people that the city is tearing down my beloved "white structure," but I am pretty upset about it. Not only have I parked there a few times a week for three years, but it is way cooler looking than any of the other looming brick structures around here. It was built in the 1940's and was the first municipal parking structure in the world (woo hoo). But apparently I am going to have to find somewhere else to park. Woe is me.

American Idol is a Sham

Ryan Seacrest
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
Having only ever watched one half of one season of American Idol, I do not consider myself an expert on the subject. I think that the "Star Search" concept is a decent one, but American Idol has two basic flaws in my mind: One, that everyone is allowed to vote as many times as they want to. How is this possibly fair in any sort of system? I could sit on my couch and text message over and over and over again for one person. Rubbish. The other severe flaw? Ryan Seacrest is a tool. Just look at his dopey face in this picture. I want to punch him.

What in the World is Going On?

snowtulip
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
I know I've posted a few times about how much I hate snow... and I had thought that my opportunity for this type of redundant post was over, but apparently not. It started snowing yesterday morning and pretty much has not stopped. A snowstorm on April 24, gotta love Michigan. As most of you know, I have that whole driving in snow phobia, so my plans to have dinner with my grandparents and my mom, as well as attending my mom's handbell concert have been cancelled. This is kinda upsetting to me, but it is devistating to my mother. Which makes it worse for me; I hate it when she is upset. Also, I am stuck in the house, destined to stare out the window and wonder when the nastiness will stop. Will I have to dig out my scraper from storage in order to drive to work tomorrow? Probably. Definately.
I took this picture of my beautiful tri-colored tulips this morning. Aren't they lovely? Poor babies.

Another Sleepless Night

chonga
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
Spent another night awake in bed listening to the cat run around, scratch the bedding, bite my feet, and pretty much be the insane kitty that she is. She turned one year old a few days ago and I feel that this behavior is very immature for a growing cat. Needless to say, I am pretty pissed and considering leaving her in the garage with the racoons tomorrow night. Have fun with that one, Chonga!

The Root of All Evil

money
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
Man I hate money. I hate it for trivial reasons such as: I REALLY don't want to go pick up a shift at work tonight. I should because I need money for my massive phone bill that came yesterday, the show I want to go see tomorrow night (Scott Brandon, best DJ in town at Babs), food, blah, blah, blah...
I also hate money because we as Americans percieve a person's worth based on how much money they make. Many people with a lot of money seem to feel that the larger the balance in their checkbook is, the more they have a free pass to be an asshole.
Obviously I have no problem with this. There is virtually nothing in my bank account and I still manage to be an asshole.

Quit The Peak

Originally uploaded by primalktc.
"Quit the Peak" has become quite a montra for me over the last few weeks... the prospect of actually doing it leaves my heart pounding, cheeks reddened, and a huge smile on my face. I had an interview today at a place that I would love to work, and it seems quite promising. The idea of getting out of the situation that I am in seems almost too good to be true. I remember what it is like to start a new job; to go in with a smile and not dread the hours ahead. As it is right now, the front door to my work seems heavier and harder to open each time I enter.

Saying Goodbye

Best Girls
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
The past week and a half was really great... two of my best girls were in town and we hung out with a lot of people that I love but don't often get to see. This picture is of me and my three best girl friends (also ex-roomies): Leen in from NYC, Rock who lives here with me (but the combination of our busy lives leaves little time for getting together), and Smita in from Lexington, KY. I had a really amazing time that night, from what I can remember.
Man, I love it when they are here, but I will never get used to watching them leave.

Go Away Already!

You Suck
Originally uploaded by primalktc.
The Backstreet Boys launched their "Comeback Tour" this week. This news leaves me dismayed, horrified, and a little sad. When will we dig ourselves out of this popstar-boyband-american idol rut? Are we destined to listen to catchy electronic beats and high pitched love lyrics forever?
